Much to my amazement, my work visa application was approved today.  Maybe this isn’t as shocking to you, but I’ll give you the skinny and maybe it will put it into perspective for you. 

I finished my application on Monday, May 13^th, submitted via registered mail Tuesday, May 14^th.  Something to note here is that the British High Commission is in Ottawa, so it takes 2 days for it be mailed.  I get an email this morning, Thursday, May 17^th saying my appliaction is received and expect it to take 10 business days for processing.

From what I was told before, I was too expect it to take 4 to 6 weeks, so it was sort good news that it would be faster.  This afternoon I get another email saying it has been approved and will be mailed back to me in about 3 business days.  So from hearing it could take 4 to 6 weeks to taking only 10 business days to actually being completed in a few hours, this was amazingly good news for yours truly.
