Alright. Here I am, way behind again. I’ve been traveling again and forgetting to update my site. Let’s start.
Budapest, Hungary
After my temporary job ended in Edinburgh, I booked a few flights to some places I missed but was interested in. First on the list was Budapest. Talk about a place where no one speaks English. Despite this fact, it was actually quite easy to get around. I couldn’t believe how cheap everything was as well. For 3 days I spent $80 Canadian; including, accommodations, eating out every meal, getting into various attractions and travel to and from the airport. By far, the thermal-baths were my favorite attraction. I have been begging for some hot tub therapy since I left Canada and finally got it there. Check out my pictures on Facebook if you are interested in what it looked like. It’s the bit steamy water thinger.
Amsterdam, Netherlands
This was a bit of an adventure. Amsterdam is incredible. It is the most liberal place in the world for certain. I’m sure most everyone knows the basic details of their freedoms, so I won’t go into it any further. Amsterdam has more to offer than just that however. The Van Gough museum was incredible and I’m not the kind of person who usually appreciates art. The architecture of the city is like none other. The houses are all so narrow, which makes moving large pieces of furniture in difficult. To allow for this, the façades of the buildings all lean forward. On the top of the façade, there is a hook the sticks out for a pulley. So all the large furniture is lifted up and moved in through the windows on the upper floors. I’m pretty horrible at finding the right adjectives describe what I really liked about the city’s high points and I cannot seem to find the exact words or phrase to describe what I thought of the canals. I would highly recommend checking this city out.
Well that’s it for now. I should have another update sooner rather than later. New travels are on the immediate horizon.
